I'd like to announce the winners in the Archie Grand notebook give-away - they are Hena Tayeb and Laura Calandrini. They were chosen by number generator. Please email me your mailing addresses when you get a chance. Thanks to all who entered! Have a terrific weekend!!

I'm not usually one for wallpaper, but I thought this particular version with vintage images from the Venice Opera House was kind of cool.  I am fond of old black and white photos and think this limited run by innovative New York design company Trove partnering with Anthropologie could add some pep and interest to a boring wall, especially in a place like a powder room. Check out "Fuoco" and more here.
Hope you have an enjoyable weekend!

I have a long history of fondness for small notebooks, office supplies and stationery. It all started when I was a preschooler and one of my grandfather's tenants skipped out owing rent and left a passel of office supplies behind. I somehow ended up with a decent portion of these which my willing little hands enjoyed passing the time with (mostly when I was supposed to be down for a nap!)

Anywhoo....I digress. Archie Grand, that very cool Swedish brand that J Crew latched onto, has generously offered to sponsor a give-away for my loyal and fabulous readers. The notebook with "Secret Agents I Met and Liked" emblazoned on the front are perfectly in sync with the 50th Anniversary of that famous agent, James Bond. It's also a very cool neon-ish orangey color.
2 notebooks will be given away. To enter, become an Annechovie follower and then visit the Archie Grand site here and leave a comment letting me know which notebook(s) you like best! Enter until November 28th. Winners will be announced on November 30th. (Open to US contestants only, sorry!)
Hope your week gets off to a great start!

Excited to have 2 of my prints featured in the Holiday 2012 issue of House of Fifty! I am honored to have my work included with that of some terrific fellow artists.
A huge thank you to founder/editor Janell Beals, a very smart, talented and gracious lady entrepeneur who has built a great online magazine and is also super nice. Don't you just love nice and genuine people?? Not enough of them these days, so the ones who are shine especially bright.
Check out the Holiday Issue here
I hope that you have an awesome weekend!!

For those of you who are Pinterest fans like myself, you probably have a board for a million different categories. Lately, I have been working so much that I haven't had time to pin much, let alone break my categories down into subcategories, etc. Today I thought I'd share a few of my favorites on my bathroom board.

Which type of bathroom suits your tastes? Quirky, creative, luxe or traditional?
Are you searching for the perfect bathroom vanity?

I want to wish my wonderful Mother a very Happy Birthday today. Love you, Mom!
I am leaving town for a couple of weeks tomorrow, but will send a Thanksgiving greeting and update from my mystery location. I have scheduled some posts and a great give-away for next week, too, so make sure you stay tuned!
(P.S. my shop is still open and all orders will be shipped within 3-4 days after my return on Nov. 28)

I recently read an article online (where else?) decrying the proliferance of "hipster" living and listing the items in your home that could either make or break your hipster status . I find this kind of lifestyle/cultural trivia mildly entertaining and so I had to see for myself which furnishings the writer considered "hipster" worthy. The premise of the article was to state that folks are actually becoming more and more homogenized, despite their best attempts to stand apart from the crowd with their style and eclectic tastes. It was actually kind of enlightening. The long and short of it is that I discovered that I am definitely not a hipster at present, but if I could acquire a coveted piece such as, say, a ghost chair which you can view here , my status could be instantly transformed. Actually, I really do like ghost chairs, even if you seem them everywhere now. Another option for aspiring hipsters is to hang decorative antlers, buy an overdyed rug or use skateboards as a wall decoration instead of a means of transportation. Hmmm.....what do you think??
Any decor elements that scream "hipster" to you or some you'd even like to incorporate for yourself? Do tell!

Gallery walls are no longer just a trend

(via Absolutely Beautiful Things)

more and more art lovers and homeowners are incorporating them into their decor

(via Ivy & Piper)

whether with just small groupings or entire walls covered

There are no real "rules" per se, but mapping a grouping out on the floor or with paper templates taped on the wall beforehand can be helpful, that way you don't make any unnecessary holes in the wall.

(via Absolutely Beautiful Things)

If you are looking for a more versatile way to hang art and change around displays, check out these options for a picture hanger

You don't have to stay with any one frame color or size, variety - as long as it is visually harmonious - can add a lot of interest and make your display unique!
